The Labor Inducing Cupcake

Cappellino’s Crazy Cakes in Charlottesville, Virgina makes a Lemon Drop Cupcake that apparently when eaten, will cause overdue pregnant women to go into labor. So far, a total of 19 overdue women have reported that they have eaten this cupcake and have gone into labor. Doctors and medical experts across the nation are completely stumped by this cupcake, however there is no denying the evidence. Even still, is it truly labor inducing or is it simply mass hysteria and a placebo affect. Representatives of the bake shop believe that the extremely fresh ingredients within the cupcake are what gives it its strong affect. Also due to the great intrigue behind it, their lemon drop cupcake has become one of their best sellers. All of the bakers make sure that there is at least one lemon drop is in stock throughout the day just in case an expecting mother decides to come in. Overall Cappellino's Crazy Cakes is in interesting bakery with even more interesting cupcakes, even more popularity is sure to come their way.

What Happened to Ren from Even Stevens?

Christy Carlson Romano

Whenever people talk about Even Stevens it seems that all the talk surrounds acting superstar Shia LaBeouf, but whatever happened to his co-star Christy Carlson Romano? Whether you realize it or not Romano is still much involved in the business of acting; she hasn't fallen off the face of the Earth. As it turns out Romano has been lending her voice to a variety of animated characters. These include the voice of Kim from Kim Possible, as well as Yuffie Kisaragi in Kingdom Hearts and Final Fantasy VII Advent Children. Romano has currently been seen in a variety of Broadway plays such as Beauty and the Beast. She has also been featured on many a Disney Soundtrack as well as a few singles of her own. Romano has also been participating in a multitude of film projects many of which are horror films. Her most recent role is in the film Infected which is an American science fiction horror film. This just goes to show that just because young actors aren't currently in blockbuster films, it doesn't mean they're out of work and gone forever.

Frida Kahlo and Her Work

Titled: Two Fridas

Surrealist artist Frida Kahlo was a fascinating young woman who suffered a great deal in her life time. The majority of her paintings were self portraits depicting a variety of themes. Some of those themes depicted include pain, suffering, loss, and acceptance all of which were things she struggled with in her own life. She was born in Mexico and occasionally you can find ties to the Mexican Revolution in her many works. At the age of six Frida was diagnosed with polio, this caused one of her legs to be much thinner than the other, she hid this by wearing long colorful skirts. Also at the age of 18 she was injured in a trolley accident which made it nearly impossible for her to have children; she suffered three miscarriages in her life time. Frida Kahlo was also married to Diego Rivera. They had a very tumultuous relationship, complete with affairs on both sides. Overall Frida Kahlo led a vibrant, interesting, unsheltered life, and this life she led led to her creating some of the most wonderous artwork of her time.

A Quotation From The Great Gatsby

"Whenever you feel like criticizing any one," he told me, "just remember that all the people in this world haven’t had the advantages that you’ve had." - F. Scott Fitzgerald, The Great Gatsby, Ch. 1

I found this quote to be very enlightening. This quote completely captures the essence of a person who feels that others should be at same place that they are in life. However, now they have come to realize that they should be appreciative of all that they have, versus punishing those who have not had the same opportunities. This particular quote was said to the narrator of the novel by his father. Upon hearing this the narrator, Nick felt a sense of understanding. He came to the conclusion that you should never take for granted any opportunity, gift, or piece of knowledge for not all will be able to receive it. I will remember this quote the next time I am angered when someone is incapable of understanding my way of thinking, the next time that I am working as team, or the next time I see someone going through a tough time. Overall I hope that next I see someone criticizing someone else I can remind them that people haven't had equal advantages or opportunities.

Tempest Seen on Saturn

Photo provided by NASA shows an image of Saturn taken in 2010 by the Cassini camera, showing a storm with a latitudinal and longitudinal extent of 10,000 km and 17,000 km, respectively.

One of the most violent weather events in the Solar System began to erupt on Saturn last December and is still continuing on. It is a thunderstorm that is as large as the planet Earth on the surface of Saturn. The ringed planet's lightning is 10,000 times more powerful than average. Astronomers from all different backgrounds are attempting to gain some sort of insight from this epochal storm. In my opinion, this is a very interesting article because it gives the ever day person an opportunity to learn about this incredible storm. I hope many scientific insights can gained by studying this storm. I also encourage others to read this particular article, so that they too can learn more about this fascinating thunderstorm and its affects on our solar system.

Justin Bieber Teen Sensation

"I'm just a regular 16 year old kid. I make good grilled cheese and I like girls."

Justin Bieber was born on March 1, 1994. In 2007, Justin Bieber entered a talent show in Stratford, Ontario, and came in second. When his mom posted his performance on YouTube, he got the attention of producer Scooter Braun. Fame came soon after. Justin Bieber's music video "Baby" is one of the most viewed videos on YouTube. Justin Bieber’s net worth is about $65.5 million. With that much money, he could buy approximately seven Faberge eggs, six 24-karat solid gold toilets, or a 29-year stay in the most expensive room at the Bellagio Hotel in Las Vegas. Justin’s signature hair style, which has been called The Swoop, The Shag, The Fringe, or simply, The Bieber, has inspired a generation of teenaged boys to obscure their eyes with their bangs. Vanessa Price, the stylist who invented his signature ‘do, claims that the teenaged pop star’s hair is “like silk.” To recreate this hairstyle costs about 150 dollars. Justin Bieber reportedly uses up to 3% of Twitter’s traffic at any given moment. Justin Bieber sells his own brand of nail polish for Nicole by OPI. The line, called the "One Less Lonely Girl" collection, was inspired by hits by the pop idol. Shades include Prized Possession Purple, Me + Blue, and Step 2 Beat of My Heart. Bieber is reportedly terrified of elevators as well as bird poop. "Justin Bieber currently stands at 5’ 3” tall. You would need 240,252 Justin Biebers stacked on top of each other to reach the moon. But it only takes one to reach the stars."

Blaise Pascal: Math Presentation

"All of humanity's problems stem from man's
inability to sit quietly in a room alone"

Blaise Pascal was born June 19, 1623 and died on August 19, 1662. He is from Clermont-Ferrand, France. He is known for being a Mathematician, Inventor, Writer, and Philosopher. Blaise Pascal was the third of Étienne Pascal's children and his only son. Blaise's mother died when he was only three years old. He was a mathematical child prodigy and he was solely educated by his father. When Pascal was 12, he began attending meetings of a mathematical academy. Contributions Pascal made to society include: The Pascaline which is a mechanical adding and subtracting machine, and Pascal’s Triangle which is a triangular array of the binomial coefficients containing a multitude of patterns with practical uses. Interesting Pascal facts include the fact that he was a contemporary and rival of René Descartes, he was forbidden to study math until the age of 15, so as to focus on other areas of study. However, his father later relented and allowed him to study Euclid, and he also suffered from various health issues due to his intense and constant study, such as insomnia.
